Here are some of the methods:
Bonding
At Willow Dental Care, located in downtown Vancouver, BC we use resin fillings that match the shade of your teeth to cover spots and mask discolorations ,and to cover gaps left by missing teeth. An ultra violet light hardens and cures the resin, and a buffing tool is used to shape and polish to give you a great smile and natural appearance. Bonding is fast and cost efficient and can be completed in 1 visit. Here is an example of how bonding is done when we did a special for Halloween last year. In this case we installed temporary Vampire Fangs using veneers.
Veneers
Porcelain veneers are used to treat discolored teeth, fix undersized teeth, gaps in teeth, and minor misalignments. Veneers are made in a lab to match the contours of your teeth. They are strong. Durability of veneers have been tested and found to last for years.
Crowns, Dental Caps
A crown is really a cover that shields a tooth and repairs different types of damage. It can be made of porcelain, gold, other metals, or by combining metal and porcelain. Two or three appointments may be needed to finish installing a crown.
A dental crown is usually used for:
- A fractured or otherwise damaged tooth ending in structure loss.
- A tooth with deep cavities.
- A replacement for a bad fitting crown.
- After a root canal.
- A problem with misaligned bite.
Dental crown preparation:
- Local tooth numbing.
- Remove decay and fill in cavity.
- Mould preparation.
- A temporary crown.
- A lab fabricated the crown from the mould.
- Temporary crown is removed and new crown installed and adjusted.
Teeth whitening:
Teeth whitening can be done at the dental office with special gels and ultra violet light. Or you can get a free kit to do it yourself at home.
Teeth whitening at home – we make a custom tray that moulds to your teeth. A gel is then applied into the mold and fitted over the teeth for a specified time.
Teeth whitening in office – we use special gels and ultraviolet light to speed up the process.
